Bujinkan Dwyer Dojo

Bujinkan Budō Taijutsu (more commonly known as Ninjutsu or combat Jujutsu) it is a Japanese martial art drawing from nine schools of classical Japanese martial arts, along with modern day self defence techniques together into a single study. This system was created by the current Grandmaster of these schools, Dr. Masaaki Hatsumi (Soke). The schools taught under the banner of the Bujinkan Dōjō are:

Togakure Ryu Ninpō

Gyokko Ryu Koshijutsu

Koto Ryu Koppojutsu

Kukishinden Ryu Happō Biken

Shinden Fudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu

Takagi Yōshin Ryu Jutaijutsu

Kumogakure Ryu Ninpo

Gyokushin Ryu Ninpo

Gikan Ryu Koppojutsu

These arts are taught together as the martial art of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu, but also studied separately as individual schools depending on the instructor/class/course. Students Grades/Licenses are issued in Budo Taijutsu from the Hombu Dojo in Japan, and the modern curriculum teaches multiple fighting skills drawn from the various schools, such as punching, kicking, throwing, locks, ground fighting, rolling and breakfalling techniques. Students also study traditionl weapons training, please see our weapons training page for more information. We also teach dedicated beginners courses that are designed to be slow-paced, fun and very easy to learn. 2014 has also seen the launch of our new self-defence programme and new bigger club with a floor space of 1200sq ft. With a direct connection to the  battlefield arts of the Samurai and Ninja warriors, this art is as relevant today as it was when it was used to save the lives of its practitioners in the  Sengoku Jidai (warring states period) of Japans turbulent history.
